Pillar 3 · Focus area 1 of 3

Pricing

Assess whether pricing and packaging provide a sensible and coherent way to convert customer value into revenue, without obvious complexity, inconsistency or misalignment.

This focus area belongs to the Coppice Labs Audit for digital-product exit readiness. It sits within Commercial Model, Pillar 3 of 5.

Why it matters

A strong product still needs an appropriate way to capture value commercially. Pricing should be understandable, broadly aligned with the value customers receive, and free from obvious issues such as excessive discounting, highly bespoke arrangements or unnecessary pricing complexity.

The conclusion we need

Determine whether the company has a clear and coherent pricing and packaging model that broadly captures the value customers receive, is applied with explainable consistency, and has no obvious mismatch between revenue and the usage, delivery effort or supplier costs needed to provide the product.

What we examine

The questions we will answer

  1. How do pricing and packaging reflect the value customers receive?
  2. How consistently is pricing applied across customers and deals?
  3. Where could product usage or delivery effort make current pricing economically weak?
