Pillar 2 · Focus area 1 of 3

Decision Making

Assess whether there is a coherent product direction supported by credible customer and product evidence, and whether the company learns from outcomes and adapts its direction intelligently.

This focus area belongs to the Coppice Labs Audit for digital-product exit readiness. It sits within Future Growth, Pillar 2 of 5.

Why it matters

A credible product story requires more than a roadmap. The company should be able to demonstrate why its priorities matter, what evidence supports its assumptions, what it has learned from previous decisions, and how that learning informs future product investment.

The conclusion we need

Determine whether the company has a coherent product direction tied to important customer problems and intended outcomes, supports its priorities and material assumptions with credible and representative evidence, evaluates the outcomes of product decisions, and demonstrates that learning changes direction intelligently, with important uncertainties and evidence gaps made visible for pre-diligence action or explanation.

What we examine

The questions we will answer

  1. What product direction is the company pursuing, and which customer problems and outcomes does it prioritise?
  2. What evidence supports the company's current product priorities and most important assumptions?
  3. How does the company define and evaluate whether product changes achieve their intended outcomes?
  4. What has the company learned from previous product decisions, and how has that learning changed its direction or priorities?
